BAG FREE BASH -2024

In order to create a fun and stress-free environment, a “Bag-Free Bash” was organised for the pre-primary students on Tuesday the 3rd of September 2024. The event aimed to give the children a break from their usual routines and let them enjoy a day filled with exciting activities and games without the burden of carrying their school bags.
In the Nursery wing, the teachers organised interactive games where the children had to identify and match various shapes such as circles, squares, and triangles. The environment was filled with laughter and excitement as the young learners eagerly participated, absorbing knowledge through play.
In the KG-I wing, the children, dressed in colourful costumes, brought the scene to life with their enthusiastic portrayals. They set up small stalls selling imaginary fruits, toys and sweets, each child taking their role very seriously. With bright smiles, they interacted with their peers, who played the roles of customers and pedestrians. The highlight of the performance was when the young actors dressed as traffic policemen, demonstrated how to cross the road safely. Holding hands, they approached the zebra crossing, looked both ways, and waited for the signal to turn green. Their teachers stood nearby, guiding them gently and praising their efforts. The play not only entertained but also educated everyone present about the importance of road safety, leaving a lasting impression on both the young participants and the spectators.
A sensory wonderland was organised in the KG-2 wing. Each corner was dedicated to a different sense, inviting children to explore and engage in a multitude of ways. In one area, the sense of touch was highlighted with a variety of textured materials such as soft cotton, wool, sand, bumpy stones, flower petals and cold water. Nearby, a scent station featured an array of fragrant scents, herbs and flowers, encouraging the young learners to identify and savour different aromas. The auditory corner was alive with the sounds of musical instruments. Children were encouraged to create their own melodies with shakers and drums. Visual stimulation was provided through games and colourful activities. Lastly, the taste station offered a safe selection of sweet, salty, sour and bitter flavours for the children to experience. The teachers had meticulously designed each activity to ensure it was inclusive and accessible, allowing every child to participate and enjoy the sensory journey.
Overall, the Bag-Free Bash was a resounding success, leaving the pre-primary students with unforgettable memories and a sense of excitement for learning in a more relaxed and enjoyable environment. The event not only provided a much-needed break from the academic routine but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and joy among the young learners.
