CELEBRATING INCREDIBLE INDIA – 2024

The Pre-primary and Primary Wing of NPS, Cbkbnr celebrated the cultural week from the 5th to 9th of August, 2024.
The much-awaited event was celebrated with great avidity and vigour. The event aimed to promote cultural diversity and encourage students to appreciate and respect different traditions and customs. Students and teachers came dressed in traditional attire, representing the rich cultural heritage of different regions.
The week-long event began with little wonders from Grade – I participating in the Fancy Dress Competition. Students were dressed up as famous personalities of the country including APJ Abdul Kalam, Mother Teresa, Kittur Rani Chenamma, Subash Chandra Bose, Sania Nehwal, and others. The performance of the students set the tone for the week ahead.
The little ones from Grade II participated in the Fancy Dress Competition depicting the dance forms from across the states,
While the Grade III students were part of the ‘Adbhut Bharat’ competition, the Grade IV students continued with a different theme – ‘Mera Bharat Mahan’ which was about Patriotic Leaders.
The Grade V students participated in – ‘Sur Aur Taal’- Folk Song and Folk Dance competition. Students performed traditional dances, and folk songs that depicted various cultural stories and legends.
Cultural Week was a grand success, as it not only provided a platform for students to showcase their talent but also helped in fostering a sense of unity and respect for diverse cultures. Mr. Sumanth P, Dance Instructor from ASDA International who judged the dance competition surprised the students with his dance performance.

 

 

As part of the cultural week, an event titled ‘Just a Minute (JAM)’, was organised for the students of KG-II on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 13th and 14th of August 2024. Students spoke about the Indian states, sharing fascinating facts and cultural highlights from each region. The activity was designed to enhance public speaking skills and boost confidence among the young learners. Each child was given one minute to present their topic, and they did so with great enthusiasm and creativity. From the snowy peaks of Himachal Pradesh to God’s own country, Kerala, the students took everyone on a virtual tour across the diverse landscape of India. Some spoke about the traditional dances and music unique to their assigned state, while others focused on famous landmarks, cuisine, or historical events.
The colourful attire and props some students used added an extra layer of excitement and engagement to their presentations.
It was indeed a day filled with learning, joy, and a renewed appreciation for the incredible Heritage of India.

 
















The students of Kg-1 participated in the Cultural Week – ‘Incredible India’ for an event titled, ‘Show and Tell’ on Thursday, the 8th of August 2024.

The topic for the event was, ‘‘National Symbols’. Students used props and models to support them. They spoke confidently about the significance of each symbol, explaining their historical backgrounds and cultural importance. One student showcased a detailed model of the national flag, describing its colours and the meaning behind each element. Another presented a miniature statue of a national monument, highlighting its architectural beauty and the stories it holds within its walls.

The audience listened attentively and teachers beamed with pride as their pupils eloquently shared facts and anecdotes, making the session not only educational but also engaging.

It was a morning filled with learning, pride, and a renewed sense of connection to the nation’s heritage, leaving everyone with a deeper understanding of the symbols that represent their collective identity.

 
















 

Competing with Pride

As part of the Cultural Week celebrations, Grade VI to Grade XII students had exciting Inter-House Competitions. Finalists of the Competitions performed during the Independence Day celebration. The event was an impressive showcase of the talent, teamwork, and school spirit as students representing all four houses – Athena, Eirene, Eos, and Nike competed in the Group Song, Group Dance, and Solo Instrumental that mirrored the spirit of Independence Day.
In a turn of events, the judges took the stage themselves and captivated the audience with their charisma. The judges, Mr. Sam Paul, Ms Manvitha, and Ms. Nisarga A Shetty were the Alumna of NPS. Mr. Fedrick Clifferd, Dance Trainer and Choreographer was the judge for the dance competitions held on August 13, 2024.
