It was a vibrant celebration of the richness and diversity of Hindi literature at the Hindi Literary Week celebrated to commemorate Hindi Diwas at NPS, Ckbnr on September 14, 2024.
The event, organised by the Hindi Department, was planned for a week featuring an array of activities to foster a deeper appreciation for Hindi language.
Hindi Diwas celebrations commenced with a special assembly in which students highlighted the significance of Hindi language through songs, poem recitation and dance performances. The special highlight of the event was a ‘Nukkad Natak’ (Street play) in which students from Grades VI to VIII participated and entertained the audience.
The special assembly organised by the department of Hindi highlighted the significance of Hindi in our cultural heritage and education.
Highlights of the Hindi Week:
Among the series of fun activities planned for the week, the students from Grade I participated in the Poem recitation competition, while it was ‘Talk About Your Favourite Toy’ for the students of Grade II, where participants brought their favourite toy and spoke about it in Hindi. They also expressed their memories attached to their toys.
Students from Grade III narrated stories with the help of props in the ‘Story Telling Competition’ while students of Grade IV, had to act on the spot in the ‘Pick and Speak Competition’. Focus was on their quick articulation in Hindi. Grade V students took part in a tongue twister challenge in Hindi. Participants were presented with a variety of tongue twisters, and the challenge was to recite them quickly and accurately without fumbling.
Students of Grade VI showcased their oratory skills and love for poetry by reciting Hindi poems, while students from Grade VII competed with each other in a storytelling competition. Grade VIII students participated actively in the Elocution Competition.
For Grade IX to XII students, Inter-House Declamation and Debate Competitions were held in the school auditorium.
Hindi Literary Week competitions aimed at improving their public speaking and narrative skills.
