KANNADA RAJYOTSAVA: CELEBRATING THE PRIDE AND BEAUTY OF KARNATAKA 2024-25

On 7 November 2024, NPS, Ckbnr came together to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava in the School auditorium.
The culturally rich event, filled with enthusiasm and pride for Karnataka commenced with the auspicious lighting of the traditional lamp.
Students presented various cultural performances showcasing Karnataka’s rich heritage. They presented a unique folk dance ‘Kamsale’ capturing the essence of traditional Karnataka culture. Recitations in Kannada, a skit and a group song by the school choir celebrating the language and notable achievements of the state were presented by the students.
Adding a traditional touch to the event, both Masters of Ceremony were dressed in vibrant Yakshagana costumes, which represented the traditional folk art of Karnataka.
The event concluded with the rendition of the state anthem, Jaya Bharatha Jnaniya Tanujate, which created a patriotic atmosphere.
As part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, a series of competitions were conducted and students from all the grades actively participated and showcased their talents.
Students of Grades I and II participated in a poem recitation competition, where they recited beautiful Kannada poems. Their confidence and expressions highlighted their affection for the language.
Students of Grades III-V took part in story-telling competition with pictures. They narrated engaging tales, using images to bring their stories to life. They also delivered speeches on famous monuments, such as Hampi, Mysore Palace, and Gol Gumbaz, reflecting the state’s architectural and cultural significance.

Grade VI and VII: Students sang folk songs and recited ‘vachanas’ – by famous poets, Basavanna and Akka Mahadevi, celebrating Karnataka’s traditional music. Their performances emphasised the diverse musical traditions of the state.
Senior students of Grade IX and X participated in Inter-House Competitions wherein they had Pick-and-Speak and Debate Competitions.
