KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI – 2024

The tiny-tots of Pre-Primary had a lively and enthusiastic celebration of Krishna Janmashtami on Monday, the 26th of August 2024. The children were taught about the festival’s importance and Lord Krishna’s birth.
Dressed in colourful traditional clothing, boys wore dhotis and peacock feather crowns, while girls adorned themselves in vibrant lehengas and intricate jewellery. The day started with the teacher captivating the children’s imaginations by sharing enchanting stories from Krishna’s childhood. They listened attentively, eyes wide with wonder, as they heard about Krishna’s playful nature and heroic deeds.
Students from Nursery performed a skit depicting the scene of Krishna stealing butter. Little Krishna, played by a bubbly child with a peacock feather tucked into his hair, tiptoed across the stage with exaggerated stealth. Following that, the children engaged in a delightful dance performance and recited shlokas.
The positive energy from the festival lingered long after it had ended, with children eagerly talking about their favourite moments and the stories they had heard. Their laughter and happiness were contagious, fostering a sense of unity and togetherness among everyone. Overall, the celebration was a heart-warming success, fostering a sense of community, joy, and learning that resonated deeply with everyone involved.
