A special assembly was organised at NPS, Ckbnr on Thursday, September 12, 2024, to celebrate three significant cultural and religious festivals: Gowri Ganesha, Onam and Eid ul-Nabi.
The special assembly commenced with the Pre-Primary students presented a soulful song dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
The celebrations dedicated to Onam, the harvest festival of the state of Kerala followed next. A traditional Thiruvathira dance performance, capturing the essence of the festive season was performed by the students of Pre-Primary and Grades IV – V.
Children were also dressed up as King Mahabali. A colourful Pookalam (floral decoration) was displayed on stage, symbolising the vibrant Onam festivities.
The celebration continued with another cultural presentation where students explained the significance of Eid ul-Nabi, marking the birth of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Speech on the significance of the day was delivered by KG II and Grade IX students, who shared information on the life of Prophet Mohammed and his teachings and contributions to humanity.
Students from Grades VI to X participated in group songs and there was also a special recitation of Surah-Al-Fateha, the opening surah of the Holy Quran.
