EXPERT CAREER GUIDANCE 2024-25

Guiding Future Financial Leaders
On November 22, 2024 NPS, Ckbnr organized an expert talk on career counselling for students of Grades X and XII, focusing on the Chartered Accountancy (CA) profession.
An expert talk was conducted by Mr. Lakshmi Narasimhan Raghavan, a distinguished Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 25 years of experience. The session aimed to guide students on the pathway to become successful chartered accountants and provide insights into the career opportunities in the field of finance and accounting.
The speaker began by introducing the CA profession, highlighting its significance in the financial and business sectors. He further explained the various stages involved in the CA course, including the Foundation, Intermediate, and Final levels, along with the required training.
The talk emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, and analytical thinking in pursuing a CA career. The expert also provided clarity on the challenges and rewards it offers. Few topics he focused on was the eligibility criteria, study tips, skill development, career opportunities and future trends.
The session concluded with a question and answer session where students actively participated, asking questions about entrance exam preparation and career growth. The expert provided practical advice and shared personal experiences inspiring students to work toward their goals with determination.
Navigating The Legal Path
An expert talk on career opportunities and the diverse options available within the legal profession was delivered by Ms Preethi Menon, a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in the field on November 23, 2024.
NPS, Ckbnr had organised an engaging and insightful expert talk on career opportunities in the field of law by the students of Grade X and XII.
The session aimed to provide clarity on pursuing a career in law and the relevance of law in everyday life and its role in shaping society.
Ms Menon also emphasized that law is not only about litigation but also includes a broad spectrum of career options such as corporate law, intellectual property, human rights advocacy, legal academia, judicial services and many more. a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in the field.
She spoke about the eligibility and entrance exams and gave the students an overview of the academic path to becoming a lawyer, including details about the Common Law Admission Test and other law entrance exams.
Students were enlightened about the various fields such as criminal law, civil law, environmental law and cyber law in order to help students identify potential areas of interest.
Giving insights into the rigorous yet rewarding journey through law school, including internships, moot courts, and networking opportunities, she also spoke on the required on critical thinking, research, communication, and ethical integrity as essential skills for a successful career in law.
Discussion on traditional and emerging roles for legal professionals, including opportunities in public policy, arbitration, and international law was also explained.
The session also addressed common misconceptions about the legal profession, such as the belief that it is limited to courtrooms. The speaker shared personal experiences and inspiring anecdotes, making the session relatable and motivational for students.
A lively question and answer session followed, where students sought advice on preparing for law school, understanding career trajectories, and exploring alternative paths within the legal domain. The expert offered practical tips and encouraged students to pursue their interests with dedication and curiosity.

Agriculture, A Gateway to Endless Opportunities
A career guidance talk was conducted by the ICAR-IIHR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Indian Institute of Horticultural Research) for students of Grades IX, X, and XI on December 02, 2024 in the School Auditorium. The session highlighted the immense potential in the field of agriculture focusing on innovative careers and emerging opportunities in the sustainable practices.
The session was conducted by Dr. Ranjitha K, Senior Scientist, Food Microbiology, Sridhar Gutam, Principal Scientist, Plant Physiology, Dr. Ramesh KV, Scientist, Plant Physiologist and the Ph.D students – Sreelekshmi, Jessa joseph, Abhijith JS and Nabiya S Khan
They all addressed the students and highlighted various domains within agriculture, including biotechnology, precision farming agribusiness management and food technology. Speakers emphasized how students could harness cutting-edge technologies to transform agricultural practices.
The program also introduced students to scholarships, degree programs and entrepreneurial opportunities offered by ICAR and affiliated institutes. Through practical examples and success stories of famous personalities, students gained insights into how agriculture contributes to economic growth.
Introduction to the various academic courses and the specialized programs, including ICAR-affiliated universities was informed along with the scholarship opportunities to support aspiring students. The session was followed by an interactive question and answer session.
