GANDHI, LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI JAYANTHI AND DUSSEHRA CELEBRATIONS AT NPS, CKBNR – 2024-25

National Public School, Ckbnr celebrated significant events such as Dussehra, Gandhi Jayanthi & Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanthi on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The event aimed at providing children with India’s rich cultural heritage and the values of peace, non-violence and unity.

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration

A special assembly started with programmes dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation and with the recitation of Gandhiji’s favourite prayer, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram,” followed by a brief introduction to his life and philosophy.
A brief introduction was also given about our second Prime Minister of India and Statesman Lal Bahadur Shastri showcasing the struggle for independence and Shastriji’s contribution to India’s freedom movement.
Later, students from all Grades participated in various CBSE competitions related to Gandhi Jayanthi.

Dussehra Celebration

In the second half of the Assembly, the school came alive with vibrant Dussehra celebrations. A beautifully decorated stage was set up, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. The celebrations began with highlighting the significance of the Durga Pooja and portrayal of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, emphasising the significance of female empowerment and strength.
Garba dance was performed by the students of Grades III -V and a classical dance form was performed by a student of Grade X depicting stories from Hindu mythology, adding to the spiritual essence of the festival.
Doll Display: A major attraction of the celebration was the traditional doll display, commonly known as Golu or Bombe Habba. This display, which is an integral part of the Dussehra festival was beautifully curated by Pre-primary teachers. The dolls were arranged on multi-tiered platforms, representing various mythological stories, gods, goddesses, animals and daily life scenes.
