INDIGO COLOUR DAY 2021-22

INDIGO -The colour of Modesty.
A day dedicated to the indigo colour was marked by the students of NPS, Chikkabanavara on the 26th of November 2021.The students were dressed in different hues and tints of the colour Indigo for their online classes. Focusing on the theme, a lot of activities related to different subjects were conducted in a lively, vibrant and high-spirited environment both offline as well as online. Grade I and II highlighted the importance of the indigo colour through a power point presentation followed by a discussion about the things associated with the indigo colour. The teachers of Grade III – V conducted various activities including discussion on the wavelength of the indigo colour, extraction of the Indigo Dye, benefits of the Clitoria Ternatea Plant, students also participated in a ‘Bhangra Dance’ wearing indigo dupattas and scarves, craft work using indigo colour paper were made during the ADMP classes. The students of Grades VI-IX & XI spoke about the meaning and symbolism of the indigo colour, the history of the Blue Gold, Indigo Demotics, reason why objects appear Indigo in colour, the chemical properties of Indigo Dye, biosynthesis of Indigo from Indole, significance of indigo colour in company logos, poem by Chitra Banerjee based on the plight of the farmers who were forced to plant indigo crops etc. The power and charm of the indigo colour was felt among the students as they participated with zeal in all the activities.
