SPREADING HAPPINESS AND GOOD VIBES THIS MAKAR SANKRANTI 2024-25

NPS, Ckbnr celebrated the festival of harvest, Makar Sankranti on January 13, 2025. A special assembly was conducted to educate students about the significance of the festival.
Makara Sankranti, a popular harvest festival celebrated in many parts of India, marks the transition of the Sun into the zodiac sign of Capricorn (Makara). The event began with the tiny tots adorning festive wear, adding a colourful and cheerful vibe to the celebrations. Their radiant smiles and traditional attire truly reflected the essence of the festival.
The pre-primary students presented a delightful dance performance and their synchronised moves brought the spirit of the festival alive.
The school choir added a melodious touch to the celebration by singing a beautiful song dedicated to Makara Sankranti. Their harmonious voices filled the air with positivity and joy.
Students also took turns to read out the significance of Makara Sankranti, highlighting its importance and the unique ways it is celebrated in different states of India. From the kite-flying tradition in Gujarat and the Pongal festivities in Tamil Nadu to the yellu bella exchange in Karnataka, they brought to light the rich diversity of the festival across the country.
The event concluded with the kite making activity from Grades I to VII as students enjoyed helping each other in making the most colourful kites.
Keeping in the spirit of Makara Sankranti, the skill class students of Grades VI and VII on Saturday, prepared Sweet Pongal and shared among the teachers and other students, symbolising the warmth and unity that the festival promotes.
